Tesla offers discounts on some car models - Economist

Tesla revealed discounts of more than $1,300 on some of its Model 3 cars in the USA after it raised prices in the US market on most newly ordered cars this month.

Tesla Model 3 cars start at $40,200 This month, Tesla began raising the prices of its cars in America, China, and Japan, after it worked for many months to reduce car prices.

Elon Musk, head of the electric car company, announced earlier this week that the company will try advertising for its cars for the first time, a move that analysts indicated could increase demand.

Tesla raised the prices of some new models slightly twice this month in America, but prices are still much lower than before the price cuts began this year.
